4th Annual Tervis Tumbler Open Benefit Car & Truck Show
North Venice, FL, May 7, 2009 -
On a bright, sunny April day folks
gathered at Tervis Tumbler’s landmark factory store in Osprey to see some hot
cars, all for a good cause.
The 4
th
Annual Tervis Tumbler Open Benefit Car & Truck Show was held April 18
th
in an effort to raise funds for All Faiths Food Bank.
128 vehicles registered from twelve different
car clubs and hundreds of enthusiasts flocked to the store to support the
event.
Spectators were greeted with not
only a wide range of vehicles, but a variety of food and craft vendors, a
silent auction, door prizes and a 50/50 raffle – making sure there was
something for everyone.
“This year we
were able to raise more than $3,000 and nearly 200 pounds of food for those in
need.
We’re extremely thankful for all
the support of sponsors and volunteers, without which, this event wouldn’t be
possible” stated Scott Spencer, show coordinator and husband of Tervis’ CEO,
Laura Spencer.
Tervis, manufacturers of insulated
drinkware, are headquartered in
Venice
and hold the car show annually to support worthy local causes – a different
charity benefits each year.
Laura
Spencer spoke to the reason for holding such an event “We have strong ties to
the community and thankfully, are in a position to give back, so we do what we
can.
Plus, it is a great way to spend
the afternoon with your family.”
