Walk away from the wannabes. Only Tervis brand drinkware has the quality and 65-year heritage to be called "the original," so ignore any imitation. Check the bottom of your drinkware to see if it's the real thing—only true Tervis tumblers carry the Tervis name.
You take your Tervis everywhere—work, the car, the game, and everywhere in between. But did you know you can also give them full reign of the kitchen? Tervis products are made with an ultra-strong seal so they can stand up to the test in the freezer, dishwasher, and microwave.* We recommend using the top-rack in the dishwasher for best results. *Certain designs are not microwavable including our designs that contain metallic in them such as the brushed steel initial(s) and the fly fish set.
Tervis tumblers are great for outdoor use & fun in the sun. However, certain sunscreen products may cause damage to several different materials, including plastics. As a plastic product, Tervis recommends minimal-to-no sunscreen contact with your tumblers or ice buckets to avoid a haziness appearance on the product(s). For example, wash your hands after applying sunscreen and before using your Tervis product(s). Should sunscreen come in contact with your tumbler(s) or ice bucket(s), hand-wash them immediately, using soap, cool water and a soft cloth.
We are committed to delivering the highest quality, most durable, and safest tumblers in the world. To that end we subject our tumblers to extensive testing by independent testing facilities to ensure that our product exceeds the strictest safety requirements of the FDA. In 2009, we began the process of converting our tumblers to Eastman Tritan™ - a new generation polymer. This conversion enables us to eliminate a step in the manufacturing process of Tervis tumblers while upholding our quality standards. Furthermore, Eastman Tritan™ contains no Bisphenol A. As of January, 2011, we have completed the transition of our entire line of Tervis tumblers to Eastman Tritan™. We will continue to search for new ways to enhance our offering and will strive to maintain our level of excellence.
Tervis tumblers are constructed of a high-quality polymer. This polymer is over 10 times more impact-resistant than other plastics, making Tervis tumblers virtually indestructible!

Over the years, Tervis has redesigned or discontinued select designs to keep our line up-to-date. If your defective tumbler(s) has a design that Tervis no longer carries or you originally supplied, you can choose one of the following options (option must be indicated on the replacement form):
- Request Tervis attempt to reuse the original insert from the defective tumbler, if still in good condition
- Choose an alternative, non-licensed design for your replacement tumbler
If neither of the above options are chosen and Tervis is unable to reuse the original insert, Tervis will replace with a similar design or in some cases a clear tumbler.

Got lots of love for Tervis and want to see how it’s made? We totally understand, we’re fascinated by the whole thing ourselves and we work here. In fact, next to making the ingenious insulated drinkware that has become a hit in hearts and homes all across America, our favorite thing is showing folks how it’s done. But before you schedule your trip, be sure and read the important information below.
- We offer tours to educational and community-focused groups such as schools and scout troops, and business and chamber associations.
- Organized groups must consist of a minimum of 6 persons, up to a maximum of 24.
- The tours last approximately one hour.
- Children must be at least 10 years old, or in 5th grade or higher.
- There must be at least 1 chaperone for every 5 students.
- There are no seats, so guests must be able to stand and walk for the full tour.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers on our production floors as there are safety issues given the tight spaces and active surroundings. We offer one tour per month February through November. No tours are offered in December and January due to the busy holiday season. (Even the North Pole is off limits those months!)
If you’d like to have your group considered for a tour, please contact outreach@tervis.com. And if you ever do get the chance to come see us, be sure and say hello. We’ll be the ones with the big smile on our faces, because we love what we do and who we do it for.
We may be all about kicking back and relaxing - but we're serious about our responsibility and also know when it's time to take a stand. Click

Combining the last three letters of each of their last names, engineers Frank Cotter and G. Howlett Davis dubbed their new cup brand "Tervis."
When Frank Cotter and G. Howlett Davis developed the very first Tervis tumbler in 1946, drinkware took a giant step from pure function to a whole lot of fun. Using the natural insulating power of air, Cotter and Davis created the inventive two-walled design, which kept hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. Today, you can enjoy their handiwork in six sizes and hundreds of stylish design options.
